Self-Hosting

Self-hosted software

I self-host a number of services on a personal server. The following pieces of software come highly recommended:
  • Radicale as a self-hosted calendar server.
  • Miniflux, a minimalistic RSS reader. While an RSS reader does not need to be hosted (there are thousands of local RSS readers), it's nice to be able to read from the same feeds on multiple devices.
  • GoatCounter, a really neat tool for privacy-oriented web analytics.
  • Vikunja for my to-do lists. Awesome tool!
  • Immich, a self-hosted photo and video cloud. Originally based on Google Photos, but has surpassed it in features and quality.
  • Jellyfin for my local media storage and streaming.
  • Home Assistant to self-host my home automations. Doesn't do anything fancy for now, but has already proven itself useful.
  • Monica, a "digital Rolodex" to help me remember things about the people around me. My memory is pretty bad otherwise. :-)
